Embrace Personal Growth and Development
By :
Debbie Baker
When I first aligned myself with my multi-million dollar home-based business, my sponsor told me that along with building a successful business I would experience a journey of deep personal growth and development. Feeling somewhat offended, my immediate thought was, “I’m already a really nice person! I don’t need any personal growth and development!” OK, I confess, my immediate thought was more abrupt than that and I said to myself, “I DON’T NEED NO STINKIN’ PERSONAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT!”

We hear of people who have lost their passion, their vision, that “fire in their belly”. They have lost friendships, jobs, marriages, and dreams. If these things are neglected and taken for granted instead of appreciated with gratitude and enthusiasm, it will cause dwindling fires. When my fire was diminishing, many people helped me to fan the flames. I studied under many mentors including Jane Rubietta, Joel Osteen, Shad Helmstetter, and Ellie Drake.

Time...What is Its Value to You
By :
Janet Croteau
It does not have to be anything major, we don't have to step into their shoes entirely. For instance, whenever my Grandma cooked a meal and had the family for dinner (she was a GREAT cook, by the way) she would always work tirelessly to prepare a meal for everyone to enjoy. There was always a favorite for each person. Mine was no-bake chocolate macaroons. A day or so in advance she would whip up a batch and store them in the fridge in Tupperware containers until my Dad and I would devour them together. I always had to share them with my Daddy, but I didn't mind, it was a special time for both of us, as we raced to see who could eat the most. Coincidentally, he always let me win. When everyone was finished eating, we all got up to help clear the table and as soon as the table was cleared she would make us all sit back down. This was a time for family to come together and share what was going on in each others' lives. A time to "be" a family, and to “enjoy” each others' company, to talk and laugh. She didn’t get to see us as often as she would have liked and she made sure there was time to "visit'. What would MY family be like if I carried on that tradition and ensured that we all spent "family" time together instead of jumping up to get the dishes done and the kitchen cleaned? It seems everyone went their own directions after dinner, usually in a hurry. Time was always short, maybe because I didn’t make the most of it?

A Thousand Splendid Women
By :
Phyllis Nasiopulos
For the past year, I’ve only read things that speak to personal development and entrepreneurship. Names like Michael Clouse, John C. Maxwell, and Robert Kiyosaki line my bookshelf. However, people like Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra and Ellie Drake soon replaced them. While this reading list may not seem unusual to many, it is quite a change for me. For the past several years, I’ve been a teacher of English and reading. My purpose was to instill the love of reading in students who in the best of times were open and most of the times were indifferent. My goal was to open a world to them that they were unaware existed, to allow them to meet people unlike the ones that live in their world.

Self Limiting Beliefs Can Eat You Alive
By :
Warren Wojnowski
According to a newsletter by Howard Ruff that I recently read, in 1945 an Imperial Japanese Army unit was the victim of the worst ever crocodile attack. One thousand Japanes soldiers on the Burmese island of Ramree were outmaneuvered by a British naval force and had to cross 10 miles of mangrove swamps to escape. The problem was the swamps were infested with 15 foot saltwater crocodiles and as a result only 20 of the original 1000 soldiers were alive by the next morning.

The people who receive the most pressure of alcohol are average everyday kids. Generally not younger children but teenagers who can give in to the peer pressure of adults and teenagers a like. At home teens can feel they can have alcohol because their parents might drink it. Depending of the level of drink they might want to try. Another place they can receive pressure from their peers. There are thousands of problems relating to drunken driving, fighting and tons of health problems. Schools and parents need to take action and enforce rules and safe ways to avoid children from killing themselves with alcohol. By balancing alcohol and family you can have a half decent teenager with less risk of a drunk driving accident.

Learning more about your Drinking Problem
By :
Dan Brown
The term "alcoholism" would be described as an addiction to alcohol. When a person has a strong case of alcoholism, it is very difficult for them not to drink. Some people who suffer from this are unable to feel content with themselves without consuming alcohol. Unlike cravings for food, alcohol cravings are much more potent and much more difficult to ignore for people with alcoholism. Often times, people craving alcohol feel that they need it to sustain themselves more than food or water. In worst case scenarios, people feel they can't go an hour without drinking alcohol. This results in a loss of control over body and mind in the alcoholic.

Discover why you can't seem to stop drinking
By :
David Peters
Alcohol use and abuse occurs with a tremendous amount of variability among individuals. Frequently, there is a limited distinction between "social" or "moderate" drinking and "problem" or" harmful" drinking. It is obvious however, that as the frequency of drinking and the amount increases, so does the probability of problem behaviors frequently resulting in medical and psychosocial problems. A very prominent group of individuals affected by alcohol problems to a significant degree, who develop the syndrome of alcohol dependence, are usually referred to by most people as alcoholics. different groups of individuals with alcohol problems usually require different approaches to diagnosis and clinical management.

Learning how to stop drinking is important
By :
David Peters
It happens every day to a lot of people. Well, then, why can't people stop drinking? The first reason is fear. They are afraid of what they are going to do without alcohol in their lives. Much like a smoker quitting cigarettes doesn't know what they're going to do without a cigarette in their hand. But, although a smoker is endangering their lives, a drinker alters the way their brain thinks, and does things, and acts in ways that are inappropriate and unacceptable. A cigarette doesn't do that to you. You don't leave your purse in a bar because you had a cigarette. Or a pack of cigarettes. A drinker can easily drive home on the wrong side of the road, sideswipe the garage door, and yell and scream for scrambled eggs and cheese! And then have to get up and go to work in the morning. So why not stop? Number one, it's usually an addiction, so it's not as easy as it sounds. Number two, without the proper guidance, it's very hard to do alone. Number three, who wants to not only have to quit doing something they love to do, but do it in front of strangers, as in a twelve step program?

Here are quick and simple ways that we can care for our skin. Nourish your skin by eating the proper foods. This means a healthy and balanced diet. A healthy and balanced diet promotes general well-being and optimizes the body to function at its best. To have healthy skin, eat plenty of seed food, i.e. fruits that contain seeds, and vegetables - organic is better as it contains additional nutrients. Drink plenty of water. The recommended eight glasses of water a day is essential in maintaining the elasticity and suppleness of skin. Water also clears your skin and aids in the proper elimination of waste. Remember, less waste products in your body, more beautiful skin you would have. Exercise regularly. Exercise is good for our hearts and bodies. Even our skin benefits from exercise since blood circulation is increased, thus bringing enough oxygen and nutrients to the rest of our bodies. Exercise also triggers the body to produce more sebum which is natural moisturizer for body. Be smoke- and alcohol-free. Smoking tends to destroy the Vitamin C in your body and damage the elastic tissues that keep the skin tight. Drinking liquor on the other hand tends to expand your blood vessels causing red spots and itchiness on your skin.
Help with stopping drinking
By :
Dan Feildman
Alcohol abuse patterns vary. Some people get drunk every day; others drink large amounts of alcohol at specific times, such as on the weekend. It is common for someone with an alcohol or drug problem to call in sick for work on Monday or Friday. He or she may complain of having a virus or the flu. Others may be sober for long periods and then go on a drinking binge that lasts for weeks or months. Someone with alcohol dependence may suffer serious withdrawal symptoms, such as trembling, delusions, hallucinations, and sweating, if he or she stops drinking suddenly ("cold turkey"). Once alcohol dependence develops, it becomes very difficult to stop drinking without outside help. Medical detoxification may be needed.
