The Significance of Christian Counseling Centers,

By: Mary Swanson

The significance of Christian counseling centers is highly underrated by many Christian authorities. The world today is becoming more and more complicated. Society is presenting us with many moral situations where we have to make unpopular and difficult decisions. The current economic condition is placing stress on families and marriages.

In the Bible in the book of Proverbs, chapter 24 verses 5 & 6 it says "A wise man has great power, and a man of knowledge increases strength; for waging war you need guidance, and for victory many advisers." We are advised in God's word to seek counsel. It goes on to say in verse 7 "Wisdom is too high for a fool." We are foolish not to.

Receiving solid Biblical counsel should result in a changed life. Paul prayed for the Colossians to be "filled with the knowledge of God's will through spiritual wisdom and understanding. To live a life worthy..." (Colossians 1:14, paraphrased.) The accumulation of knowledge from Christian Counseling centers is not enough, it needs to be applied in your life.

There are Christian Counseling Centers that can help with the multitude of problems that face many Christians today. There is debt counseling, career counseling, and premarital counseling to name a few. These are designed to help the Christian "live a life worthy" and to be "strengthened."

The only counseling that a Christian should seek should be biblically guided. The Bible is the best authority on basic Christian living provided by Christian counseling centers.

Every part of the Christian family is needed to function in today's society. To be better equipped to help others, you yourself must be healthy and strong in your biblical knowledge. It is advisable to visit a Christian counselor to help set you in the right direction in the strength and knowledge of the Lord and toward complete healing.
