Tammy Dolls,

By: Ben Needles

Many believe that the introduction of Tammy Dolls to the public was the answer to the growing monopoly and popularity of Barbie Dolls back then. This is done in order to give the public more options or selections to choose from when it comes to the types of dolls that will be played by the general public.

Tammy Dolls are also known as The Dolls You Love to Dress. Just like Barbie, Tammy has a very extensive form of wardrobe that displays many cute dresses and accessories that someone can totally use to dress or personalize the dolls. The clothes and accessories are made available separately to organize and arrange different things appropriate for the different types of Tammy Dolls. But unlike Barbie, Tammy had a more teenage or youthful-looking style of body. It is because of this that mothers are more attracted to buy this doll than Barbie because the latter projects more adult-like body curves that parents think is inappropriate for their children to appreciate just yet.

Tammy Dolls was first produced in the year 1962, and the time of production lasted until the early months of 1966. In total, the production of Tammy Dolls lasted for approximately three and a half years. It was Ideal Toy Corporation that first produced Tammy Dolls and the family attached to it. Unfortunately, Tammy Dolls was not reproduced ever again by the modern toy companies that we know today.

The materials, characteristics and size of Tammy Dolls are also very distinguishable. For one, Tammy is twelve inches tall. Tammys Mom and Dad on the other hand are both twelve and a half inches tall. She also has a little sister named Pepper, and she stands nine inches tall. And just like Barbie who has a best friend, Tammy also her own by the name of Patti, who stands nine inches tall as well, just like her sister. The material used to produce the bodies of Tammy Dolls is vinyl, and each doll has some joints found on the neck, hips and shoulders. Their eyes are also well painted to match their respective designs and they also have rooted hair and other several body features.

Auction site Ebay has definitely helped on marketing Tammy Dolls to a certain degree or extent. It also had a serious impact to the general prices of Tammy Dolls as they are being sold to the general public. The most pristine of the dolls was never removed from the Tammy Doll box and so are the basic outfits that were also never removed from the official box of the Tammy Doll outfits. In fact, the rarest doll among all Tammy Dolls, Patti, can already generate revenues amounting to two hundred dollars. Majority of the other items and the other types of Tammy Dolls can be bought at very reasonable prices, which usually range below the one hundred dollar price line. There are also some Tammy Dolls and some of its related clothes and accessories that are heavily discounted.
