If it was possible for you to know what is going to happen to you for the rest of your life, what would be the point of living? I suppose you can abuse it to amass a fortune but if you did know what is going to happen for the rest of your life? You knew who you are going to get married to. You know when your children will be born, how they grow up and when they leave your nest to independent from you. You know when you are going to die. What kind of life would you live?
What happens if you know that your life won't be as happy? What if your life is going to be full of hardships and pain? What if there is no point to living on? This is a possibility that can happen if you know what is going to happen to you which is why we life in a game of chance. Life can be seen as one giant game. No one knows for one hundred percent of what will happen next. No one can truly be sure of what the future may bring but that is the reason why people look forward to it even if it might bring bad news.
I suppose that is way they say life is like a deck of cards. Flip one card over and it can be anything out of the fifty two cards available; a game of chance to a certain extent. Like life, though there is a chance for anything to happen doesn't mean that for there is a chance for everything to happen. Like one example can be that you having a conversation with Plato. This is impossible because of the entire time and space boundaries that cannot be crossed.
However to rely your entire life onto random chance is something only a complete fool will rely on. Much like a game of cards there are ways to raise your chances of winning. Relying solely on luck will end up with you losing a fortune so instead of submitting your fate to Lady Luck it is better to learn the skills and strategies of playing the game. You can also apply this strategy into life as well. Such examples that can raise your chances to be successful in life is to have a good education, the higher the better, befriend people who have connections to whatever field of study you are striving for and don't do anything that you will regret later on.
The last choice is hard to predict because it is impossible to know exactly what the future holds for you can prevent yourself from making foolish mistakes such as don't ridicule someone in power that you know will be holding where your future might lead to such as an employer. But even so there may be some freak occurrences that not even the Fates could have seen.
Another good strategy is to bluff your way to the top. But this is a double edged strategy that is only for those who are extremely confident because if your opponents can see though your bluff you will end up damaging your reputation. However in the off chance you can bluff your way all the way though then the fact that it was a lie wouldn't matter in the end because you came up on top.
