How to Make a Memorable Birthday Card,

Whether your design is elaborate or simple, the card you make is going to reflect so many things to the receiver. It can show them how much you love them and it shows the receiver that you have taken the time and effort, to honor them in such a special way. These are just a few things that are conveyed to someone when you give them a homemade card for their birthday.

You design can be as simple as a pencil sketch of something you know the receiver would like, perhaps it might be a floral spray, an animal or a still life, the possibilities are endless and your choices are limitless. Perhaps, you could even go a step further and produced a colored sketch that will wow the receiver, this is another option you could choose when designing a homemade card. You could also add jeweled or metallic embellishments and ribbons to accent your design, the choices are entirely up to you.

Another great thing about making homemade cards is that you do not need to have any special kind of skills or be a specifically artsy-type of person. You can have novice level drawing abilities and still manage to make some very stunning homemade birthday cards. Just think about how many birthday cards you have to give out every year, if you are like the average person the number probably falls somewhere between six and twelve. Now, turn around and think about all the money you could save by making your own cards, the amount is staggering when you do the math.

Once you start making your own homemade cards, you may find yourself getting hooked on the hobby. You will need to buy blank card paper, or you could even buy some recycled paper to make your cards with. Then you could go to the craft store and get some great ideas pursuing the craft isles. There are flowers, leaves, ribbon, metallic and jeweled notions that will look beautiful on your birthday cards. The best thing about it is, once you have the supplies bought, you will be able to use them on future card projects.

There are so many different types of paper for you to try, you could get acid free paper, recycled paper, or depending upon your idea, you may even want to try watercolor or plain art paper for your project. You can add stickers, glitter or paint and you can use colored pencils, crayons, or fine-point markers to do your lettering. If you are not that artistic, then you may want to consider investing in a good computer software program that will allow you to simply design and print your homemade birthday cards, with just a few simple clicks of a computer mouse. There are also great sources of inspiration on the Internet, so all you need to do is look around, gather some ideas and then set about to creating the perfect homemade birthday card for the person you love.
